Field notes·1 min read

In the leafy avenues of Mysore, where ancient trees tell stories of time, the morning air was filled with the fragrance of rain-soaked earth. As I looked up, sunlight streamed through the branches — and there it was, the Indian Grey Hornbill, perched high, calm and regal.

Its large curved bill and soft grey plumage blended beautifully with the old tree bark, a true guardian of the canopy. Every gentle movement, every call echoed with quiet strength — a reminder of how gracefully nature weaves majesty into simplicity.

This serene encounter in Mysore's green heart made me realize — some of nature's greatest wonders do not dazzle with colour but with their quiet dignity.
